"We were able to come up with working blue prints in four visits. We had a lot of fun doing it and we laughed a lot.

We did a lot of unusual things that people hadn’t done before such as putting a couple of secret doors built into cabinets and bookcases which we thought was really fun and exciting but many people said ‘you can’t do that’. We wanted to put a fish pond next to the house like a big aquarium and have a window in the house looking into the fish pond and people told us we couldn’t do that. The thing I liked best about working with this firm was that they could think outside the box. When I had an idea they would help me facilitate that idea rather than telling me ‘you can’t do that’.

We’ve received a lot of recognition for this house. We’ve won awards for the use of concrete in exterior walls. We’ve been featured twice in the Kansas City Star in their Star Magazine. We’ve been featured several times in the local St. Joseph paper and also Home and Garden TV has been out here to film this house for Offbeat America.

We’ve lived in this house for five years and we’ve loved every minute of it. There isn’t a whole lot that we could do differently that would make us any happier. I can’t imagine ever leaving this house."
