About Us - History
Goldberg, Sullivan and McCrerey began in 1981 as Lawrence Goldberg Architects, Inc. LGA quickly developed a reputation for creative problem solving, innovative design and cost-effective new construction and renovation.
In 1984, LGA made a corporate commitment to criminal justice planning with its project for the Missouri Department of Corrections Central Missouri Correctional Center. It was to be the first of six prison projects for the State of Missouri.
For the next nineteen years the firm increasingly specialized in criminal justice projects; applying its innovation and creative problem solving throughout the nation in master planning, designing or building over 90 projects. At the same time the firm applied lessons learned from public practice to achieve uncommon levels of performance in commercial, medical and residential architecture.
In 2003, LGA adopted the name of Goldberg, Sullivan & McCrerey, Inc. or GSM. The name change recognized the significant contribution and expertise of Technical Director Cliff Sullivan and Financial Director Joyce McCrerey with partnership. The firm continues to specialize in criminal justice today.
